George Henry Smith George H. Smith (b. 1922) began publishing science fiction in 1953 with his first short story, “The Last Spring,” and a flood of novels in 1961 ­ Satan’s Daughter, 1976 ­ Year of Terror, Scourge of the Blood, The Coming of the Rats, and Love Cult. Smith’s more consistent work began to appear with the publication of The Four-Day Weekend in 1966, and the futuristic Welsh Annwn series of alternate world scenarios in the late 60’s ­ Druids’ World, Witch Queen of Lochlann, and Kar Kaballa .
